My Journey as a
Counsellor
I am passionate about walking alongside people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or alone, including newcomers navigating the complex process of adjusting to a new country and a different life.
My mission at MOJ Counselling is to provide a gentle and human environment where your voice is truly heard. I became a counsellor to help people rediscover hope while navigating life's most isolating transitions. Whether you are facing a new culture or personal hardship, I am here to witness your story and help you heal.
I view therapy as a partnership rooted in mutual respect. My goal is to offer a safe, hopeful harbor where you can explore your challenges and find the internal strength to start a new chapter of growth.
Michael's Core Philosophy
I believe in a client-centered, collaborative partnership where your culture and values guide our path. Together, we tailor evidence-based tools to meet your specific goals and needs.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
By reshaping unhelpful thoughts and identifying harmful patterns, we work to change how you feel and react to the various challenges in your daily life.
Collaborative Care
Therapy is a partnership. We work side-by-side to build a safe, non-judgmental environment where your unique background is respected and integrated into every session.
Motivational Interviewing
We focus on building internal motivation for change, helping you resolve ambivalence and tap into your personal strengths to achieve the life you envision.
Narrative Therapy
We will explore and reframe your personal stories, empowering you to rewrite the narratives that currently limit your growth and discover new perspectives.
Culturally Sensitive Approach
Your identity matters. I ensure that every therapeutic tool is adapted to honor your heritage, personal values, and the unique context of your lived experience.
